Amazing:

Watch this amazing video and then the one at LFTO.  Some people push the limits beyond what has gone before.  Dean Potter is one such person.  Not backpacking and kit I know but still amazing.

I guess technically he has a backpack but our '10 essentials' are replaced by his '1 essential'! Nuts.

I've always fancied a bit of wingsuit action ... but that's just nuts!

Dean Potter is a pretty kooky guy but if ever there was someone dedicated to the purity of sport it is he.

Chris and Simon wow and nuts to see for sure.

Sahm he is a master of what he does. I wonder what psychologist would say about his comments about facing death and control of what he does. Saying that if he took a fall at a lower height he would most likely not have time to deploy the parachute and die anyway.

On another note I liked the video of you and you friend snowshoeing in the Bob Marshall wilderness. Stunning.

there was a really interesting channel 4 documentary about him a while ago. just to add to his crazyness is his slacklining antics. worth looking for that documentary though, all about his motivations and fears.

He was the subject of an episode of Daredevil's on Ch.4 recently. Watching him free-climbing and slack-lining (bit like tight-rope walking) over 3,000ft drop with NO harness or parachute had you on the edge of your seat!! It's still on 4OD if anyone is interested, at.

Nigel and Kate I still have my heart in my mouth from that documentary. TV like that is incredible sit on the edge of your seat stuff. I am amazed he used no protection on that final Slackline. I had it explained to me by the staff in the Outdoor Warehouse in the Lakes who do it a long time ago. The guy in there has done Lost Arrow and showed me and my wife his photos of him doing a slackline on it. He then told us about the legend that is Mr Potter
